SAWDAY’S PRESS RELEASE
Pottery Cottage nr. Hay-on-Wye wins Sawday’s B&B Award for Favourite Newcomers
Pottery Cottage nr. Hay-on-Wye has received a Favourite Newcomers Award in the prestigious annual Sawday’s B&B Awards.
The 19th edition of Sawday’s Special Places to Stay British Bed & Breakfast hits bookshelves on 1 September 2014. With 638 handpicked B&Bs, this year’s 12 award winners fought off some tough competition. With glowing feedback from guests and Sawday’s inspectors, winners were chosen in one of four categories – Favourite Newcomers, Old Favourites, Most Praised Breakfast and One of a Kind.
Alastair Sawday’s, founder of Special Places to Stay says:
Discovering a new Special Place is always exciting. We delight in meeting new B&B owners, hearing their stories and helping them reach likeminded people who want to stay in B&Bs with personality and charm.
Pottery Cottage entry in the guide:
Balm for urban souls searching for a retreat… This gorgeous old potter’s shed, once worked in by Adam Dworski, is now a village hideaway sprinkled with beautiful objects and books. Nothing could be lovelier than sitting up in the wide bed, clouded over by Hungarian goose down and contemplating the pretty garden laid out at your feet. Hungry? Put an idle hand out for Emma’s breakfast basket which bustles with local apple juice, bread and pastries, organic yogurt, fruit, Hay Deli granola. Make your own proper coffee, choose when to come and go. Stride the hills, find great pubs, return to a soak in a big tub with a glass of wine. Bliss.
The other two winners in this category were Castle of Park in Banff, Aberdeenshire and Three Glens in Moniaive, Dumfries and Galloway.
Sawday’s Special Places to Stay: British Bed & Breakfast is available from all good bookshops or online directly from Sawday’s website priced at £15.99. For more information on the book or on any of the places featured please visit www.sawdays.co.uk
